Hi, I’m Julia - Jules to my friends. It’s lovely to meet you.
I am a multidisciplinary artist whose experiences across music, fashion, and home inform my perspective on design as a whole. I believe the most interesting interiors come from the almost alchemical interaction between the life of the space and the life of the client, each informing the other in conversation.
The design process offers an opportunity to assess not just a physical space, but the ways in which we live - and perhaps envision our lives moving forward.
My favorite rooms are ones that both inspire and even awe you a little, but in which you also feel comfortable enough to mix your own cocktail or dance on the coffee table - where warmth and elegance intersect. I love the idea of truly living in and enjoying beauty — being able to touch it and bring it down to earth, and also have it touch you and elevate you.
We tend not to have many opportunities to think about designing our lives. In designing a space, we get to play a bit of detective and do just that: how can this space we are creating best support the day-to-day of our dreams?
Ultimately, I am a believer in creating a space carefully cultivated for one's needs. And making it as beautiful - and, therefore, inspiring - as possible.
